In 2011, Italian criminals were banned from wearing labels such as Prada, Gucci, Valentino, Versace and Louis Vuitton in Palermo’s Ucciardone prison. The governor of the prisons reasoning behind this was that the prison was known as The Grand Hotel due to style worn by prisoners
