On this day in fashion history

In 2010, famed for its über sexed-up aesthetic and racy ad campaigns, Gucci surprised the fashion world by announcing its intention to begin production on its first children’s collection. Conceived by creative director Frida Giannini, the label confirmed that the collection would be made up of clothing, shoes, accessories, gifts and sunglasses for two age ranges – zero to two years and two to eight years.
