Veronica & Betty are Back

I’m pretty sure everyone in my generation will remember the Archie comic, I personally loved it and it will always be in my heart as one of my fondest memories of childhood.

My inner child is jumping for joy right now, since MAC have once again come up with a genius new limited edition range, the Archie girls.

This range, in time for valentines day is all about who will he/you choose?

Summer Scents

I am a very fussy fragrance user because I suffer with headaches from certain smells so it is really difficult to find something I love which I can wear without a headache (literally)

I am a sweet scent kinda girl and after a long and head throbbing search I have found some fragrances for the season (and probably many more seasons to come)

ESCADA TAJ – The sweetest of them all, and probably my favorite

POISION DIOR – A perfect alternative to the ones I wear daily (ESCADA TAJ and DOLCE & GABBANA THE ONE)

SOMEDAY, JUSTIN BIEBER – I know, I know, was by pure accident that I smelt it and honestly loved it. I don’t own a bottle of it yet, but sure hope to soon

DOLCE & GABANNA THE ONE – Not very sweet but rather flowery but amazing. I wear this every other day

IMARI SEDUCTION – I honestly prefer the body lotion to the actual perfume but I do enjoy wearing this every now and then.

Essence Love

I don’t know how many times I have said it but I love the Essence brand, for so many reasons. It is the first and last stand I stop by when paying Clicks a visit (I always have to have one last check before I leave) But what recently caught my eye, which I unfortunately haven’t got my hands on yet is the Ready for Boarding collection, which consists of polishes, pencils, shadows, polishes in pretty summer hues and a cosmetic bag, oh that cosmetic bag – I NEED IT! I unfortunately have not come across it as yet, but that may be due to my Clicks being a rather small one. However, according to the brand, this collection should be in stores as you read this! Keep an eye out and let me know where you spot it because I am on a serious hunt for some of these goodies!

So far these are the tried and tested Essence products I have used and loved:

- All their polishes

- Essence Lash Mania Ultra Volume Mascara in hypnotic black

- The Essence single pallette shadows

- Essence Longlasting eye pencil in black fever

- The eyeshadow brush with the pretty purple bristles

All of these have earned their place in my makeup bag, can’t wait till I have this makeup bag

Rebel Obsessed

I was lucky enough to receive a goodie bag from AFI SA and Mercedes Benz on my trip and of all the goodies in the bag, the one that stood out was MAC Rebel Lipglass – to say I am obsessed with this colour is an understatement. I wore it everyday in Cape Town and have it on today.

Being a light pink girl and wanting to move away from the light shades, this couldn’t have come at a better time. This is also the first time I am trying a MAC lipgloss because I’m quite a cheap gloss girl, my mentality has been all wrong thinking they’re all one in the same.

Now that I have tried MAC, I am dying to take a look instore at the other colours available – this gloss lasts and has such a beautiful colour to it no matter how much you apply. I apply two coats to get close to the bottle colour (its a stunning grape) and find that I reapply every three hours or so. It is quite thick in texture but not at all sticky.

According to my MAC friend and pro, this was a limited edition colour and also came in a lipstick and polish..

And just look how amazing it is – I want the polish and lipstick, and like a ton more of the gloss.

Hey Sailor

Nautical is a popular summer look and is easily worn by any and everyone – navy and white stripes with touches of red and maybe even a cute sailor hat is a sure win. MAC has made a sailors summer even more nautical with their “Hey Sailor” range.

The line includes a total of 38 items for lips, eyes, faces, cheeks and bodies.

What stands out is the packaging

 

The range is limited and is said to be a tad pricier than the normal products – could it be the design and packaging?

I love MAC’s creativity, and while the sailor/nautical idea isn’t a spanking new one, it is a fresh one in the cosmetics department.

Chanel Chance

The decidedly young scent for those who dare to dream…

This heaven in a bottle will soon be available in a handbag size and will be a twist and spray

The Eau Tendre Twist and Spray comes in a pack of three – the fragrance and two refills, for R805; the Body Moisture is R475 and the Foaming Shower Gel, R420. This will be available from 27 April.

Emma Watson for Lancome Ad

The new Lancome Rouge In Love ad features the lovely Emma Watson. I quite like this lady (only recently watched all the Harry Potters, I know! sometimes I’m like really behind) and she grew up to be a stunning young lady with huge talent. I love the haircut and she looks as gorgeous as ever in this ad. Go Emma

Marilyn Monroe inspired MAC

Marilyn Monroe is an all round inspiration in most aspects, including style, hair, makeup and most recently a movie about her life. Now MAC Cosmetics is joining the Marilyn party by launching a limited Marilyn Monroe inspired range. It is said to be made up of about 30 beauty goodies including lipsticks, eyeshadows, eyeliners and nail polish.

I’m sure we’ll be seeing some deep reds and extra dark black eyeliners. I’m excited to see the range which is set to hit the shelves around October.

Currently in store is the Nicki Minaj/ Ricky Martin Viva Glam range which is all about the lips and proceeds from sales go towards a special charity.
