A little bit of Christmas

I trust you all had a lovely Christmas filled with all the presents on your wishlist, all your favorite foods and of course all your loved ones!

Mine was awesome so I thought I’d share a few snaps with you :)

This was our venue for Christmas Eve, beautifully done isn’t it?

It’s all set up in a garage but it was done so well we forgot we were in the garage and felt like we were in a restaurant that was tastefully decorated and served delicious food!

Those crackers had some seriously dry jokes in them…

This is my absolute favorite picture ever of my boyfriend and I, thanks to the photographer (an uncle) who got the perfect shot :) so chuffed with it, soon it will be framed…

That’s a few of my Christmas pictures, now we move onto new years….what are your plans?

Happy Christmas, Merry New Year

As from today I am on leave (it’s only a small break) but I am super excited to have late nights and late mornings, and just do whatever I want when I want…

I probably won’t be posting much because I will be with family eating till I burst and enjoying the festivities that this time of the year brings…Of course, if there is something that I HAVE to share, you can trust that I will!

I thought I would wish you all upfront – I hope you have a fun, safe and good food filled festive season, please don’t drink and drive and please enjoy the fun that is giving and opening gifts, spending time with family and loved ones and of course enjoy the food because we all know that our new years resolutions are to hit the gym harder than ever before and live on salad till we have lost 10kgs ;)

It’s been a great year and I just know that 2012 will be even better :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New year my lovelies

Super Fly Holmes

There are few things I say I need, normally it’s “I want”… But I need some of the items from the Holmes Bros range now on shelves at Mr P!

As I’ve mentioned before I think this idea is genius, not only does it get the designers trending but also introduces new styles and mixes into the the ever changing and exciting world of fashion.

The Holmes Bros are one of my personal favorites, being from Durban they have establised a chilled yet funky vibe to their clothes which are comfy and always on trend.

The collection is called Fly Holmes (cool right?) and is available in selected stores, to view the list visit the Mr P site

Here are a few of my favorites ( I need the pineapple dress and feather tunic!)

Current Obsessions

These are the things I am currently loving….

One - Bangles, thick ones, thin ones, colourful ones, any one’s really :) bangle stacking transforms a dull outfit or adds that extra touch to an already good outfit to make it perfect.

2 – Locnville, especially the Running to Midnight CD, which I don’t have YET, but will hopefully have soon.

3 – My Chemical Romance Danger Days CD, this one I have and I love it!

Four – Gold eyeshadow, I’m not the hugest gold fan, I prefer silver but I’m going through a gold phase and love a gold smokey eye, it gives you the ultimate glam look without looking overdone. Also enjoy wearing my gold shadow to work with a bronzey brown lipstick which gives me a more natural look.

What are your current obsessions? :)

On this day in fashion history

In 2005 the President of Belarus forbid Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss from the capital city, reason being a legislation banning the use of foreign models in advertising campaigns was introduced in April of 2005. This caused havoc amongst advertising agencies as they were now forced to use models from the city and had to prove their citizenship.

On this day in fashion history

In 2008 Christian Louboutin designed a pair of pumps in celebration of Barbie’s 50th birthday. The pumps, in the legendary Barbie pantone 219 pink, made their debut at a special runway show during New York Fashion Week. Louboutin said the inspiration came from his ‘girlie side’ that liked Barbie, he also said that “Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes”

WHAT a genius!!!!!!!

Lesson learnt: Disappointment

I haven’t done a lesson learnt post for a while, probably because the things I have learnt recently haven’t been much to write about but disappointment on the other hand is something everyone goes through numerous times during their life span and is also something that actually never gets easier to deal with.

I have a tendency to really set my heart on everything and when it doesn’t happen or happens in a different order then I feel sorry for myself…

Recently I have had many disappointments in all forms such as my studies being delayed, putting my heart and soul into writing a short story for a competition and not making it into the Top 12, etc. Unfortunately all of these have caused a major ball of “life is unfair” in the pit of my stomach but today I dealt with another disappointment but handled it in a different way – which I think will be a positive in my life. Basically instead of getting angry at the God’s, at Mother Nature, at Murphy and whoever else could possibly be involved I decided to Keep calm and carry on, in actual fact when I say carry on I mean carry on with more determination than ever before, with more oomph that I have ever had just because this is enough to frustrate me no end but I don’t want to get upset, I want to fight back and be able to look back and be proud that instead of curling up into a ball for a day or two putting on extra kilos, I accomplished many things with a smile on my face. It’s a cliche I know but hopefully this can help you in your moment of disappointment, instead of asking “why” everytime, just hit back harder than you think you can – you will surprise yourself and eventually it will happen

So the lesson learnt is: Life is a bitch but it’s how you handle her that will determine your path. Cover the disappointment with determination

My weekend

This weekend was definately one of my favorites – not only was it long but it was busy and filled with lots of laughs and memories

I saw Locnville for the first time – it was orrrsome! they kept me moving throughout their set and made me love them even more than I did before I saw them live…

If I hadn’t already chosen alllllllll my Christmas presents I would have requested a better camera, this one did the job but not nearly as well as I would have liked..

That was after the last song (boyfriend reckons it looks like he just won idols)

The Arrows also performed – second time I have seen them and I have two words, RAD and CRAZY! They know how to have fun and entertain the crowd!

You can almoooost tell from this picture what a great performance it was, they interact with the crowd and they really just put their whole heart into it.

The singer and I :) yay!

From concerts and body shaking to makeover….

My friend, the makeup artist (mentioned her on here a few times) had an idea and wanted to try it on me, this is the end result…

Those are the highlights of my weekend, in between there was shopping and wrapping gifts, listening to awesome music, board games and wine with friends :) one of the best of the year

How was yours? what did you get up to?
